2023 Robert S. McNamara Fellowships: Opportunities for International Students in World Bank Membership

The Robert S. McNamara Fellowships Program for 2023 is currently accepting applications from international students who are members of the World Bank.



 This program is a prestigious initiative that provides funding for young researchers from developing countries to pursue their doctoral or postdoctoral studies in various fields, including economics, agriculture, and public health. The program is named after Robert S. McNamara, who was the president of the World Bank from 1968 to 1981 and played a significant role in shaping the bank's policies towards poverty reduction and economic development

 The program aims to cultivate a new generation of leaders in developing countries who can contribute to creating innovative solutions to the complex challenges facing their communities.

The Robert S. McNamara Fellowships Program 2023 provides a competitive compensation package, totaling $44,888 net of income taxes per fellow for an eight-month fellowship, paid in monthly installments. However, travel expenses are not covered by the fellowship.

To be eligible for the program, applicants must be nationals of World Bank WBG member countries, with preference given to nationals of developing countries. They must also be fluent in English, graduates of master's level studies or currently pursuing a PhD in economics or a related field, and no more than 35 years of age (by June 30, 2023). Additionally, applicants must be available to relocate to Washington, D.C., for the duration of the fellowship.

The application process for the Robert S. McNamara Fellowships Program 2023 requires the submission of a valid passport copy, an updated CV, a statement of purpose describing research interests and professional objectives, contact details for a reference who can provide a letter of recommendation (letters will only be requested for shortlisted candidates), a writing sample (optional), and a code sample (optional).
