Join the Global Health Community: Experience the WHO Summer Internship Program

Summer 2023 is just around the corner and it's a great opportunity for students to make the most of their holidays by doing something productive.

That's why I'm excited to share with you an incredible opportunity to participate in the World Health Organization (WHO) Summer Internship Program. If you're selected to join the WHO Summer Interns Program, you'll receive a range of benefits including free accidental/health insurance coverage, a stipend or salary, food vouchers for lunch/breakfast/dinner, travel expenses sponsorship, and even a residence facility if you're working on an out-of-town project.

The WHO Summer Internship Program usually lasts between 4-8 weeks, but I'm pleased to share that some internships can be extended up to 24 weeks.

And sometimes, WHO interns are even offered employment at the end of their internship based on their final report and performance.

So, are you eligible to apply for a WHO internship in 2023? To be eligible, you must be above the age of 20 when submitting your application and enrolled in any graduate, undergraduate, or postgrad degree program in subjects such as administration, management, public health, social or medical fields, technical work, or external matters. You also need to have completed at least three years of education in any of the above degree programs, which means you need to be in your final year or semester to be eligible for any WHO summer internship program in 2023.

Please note that proficiency in English is a basic requirement as it is the working language at WHO.

You may be asked to provide proof of your English language skills, and if you're stationed remotely, you may also need to provide proficiency proof in the native language of that region.

To apply for a WHO internship in 2023, you need to keep checking the WHO Careers page for the latest internship projects that they may be recruiting for. From there, you'll be able to find out which WHO internship project is suitable for you based on your subject/field.
